Memorable Game Day Moments

For Allie, meeting another college twirler at an Eastern Michigan University game was a special moment, showcasing the bond and friendships within the twirling community. Lacey’s standout memory is the excitement of her first home game last season—an experience she’ll never forget.

What They Love About College Twirling

Both twirlers share a deep love for inspiring fans, especially the young children in the stands. Allie says, “I like to show them that dreams come true!” Lacey echoes this, adding that she’s proud to carry on her school’s traditions and create new dreams with each performance.

Game Day Traditions and Rituals

Lacey gives Allie a pep talk before they go out for pregame, calling it their big sister-little sister tradition. Together, they “shake it out” to ease any nerves and get in the spirit of fun!

Game Day Prep and Fuel

Game day mornings begin with Chick-fil-A for breakfast and a practice session at the Glass Bowl to get in the zone. After a quick lunch break and warm-up, they march to Lot 10 for their first performance of the day. Their preparation goes beyond game day, with regular two-hour practices four times a week, plus extra sessions to fine-tune their routines.

Advice for Incoming College Twirlers

Their best advice? Make the most of every second on the field! Allie advises, “Remember your time is short and always have fun! Show everyone what you’ve got!” Lacey adds that the journey to becoming a college twirler is worth every bit of hard work, so it’s important to take it all in.

Being part of the University of Toledo’s Rocket Marching Band has been an unforgettable experience for both Allie and Lacey. As they continue their college twirling journeys, they’re excited to represent their school, build lifelong friendships, and create lasting memories. Go Rockets!
